Doggie Hide and Seek
Doggie hide and seek in our house isn't played too often, but when it is my Cairn Terrier's love it.
"Have you seen my Cairn Terrier puppy photos yet? How cute do you think I am?"
Happy Jack
While your Cairn is outside, leave a trail of popcorn leading into a back room or closet. Then hide in the closet and surprise them when they find your popcorn trail. They'll love the treats and the surprise greeting; they take to this little game very well.
I use hull-less popcorn because it is easily digestable. If your Cairn Terrier is allergic to corn like some dogs, use other type treats instead like pieces of bread or cracker bits.
Or you can also try various commercial dog treats instead to see which type of dog treats
your Cairn prefers.

Hide and seek: Indeed this is a great indoor, fun way to exercise and play with your cairns. I'd suggest that you consider using small kibbles of your dogs dry food, instead of popcorn.
An alternative exercise is to have someone hold your pup/pups and place 5-15 kibbles thru out your house, on in the fenced/secure outdoor play area and then release the pup to find the food. We use Bil Jac, so the kibbles are very small.
Their noses are amazing, and if the kibbles are strategically placed, they will spend a good bit of time and exercise finding them all.
We have two siblings, and they love all of these games.
On youtube.com, enter the search term "dogband", and our videos of the kids will come up, including their video with the soft, cloth frisbees.
Cairns are the MOST magnificent breed going. DO YOUR research before getting one or two, as they are a huge challenge. Get one from a rescue organization please.
