When Do Cairn Terrier Puppies Ears Stand Up?

Q. "Hi. We got a Cairn puppy one month ago. She is now 3 months old. When did your puppies ears start to stand up and when did they finally finish completely stand up?" ~ Mary

A. "Hi Mary. Your Cairn pup is still young. I don't remember exactly when Molly & Jack's ears completely stood up, but give them time. As long as your Cairn is purebred, you'll see it happen soon. I'm going to guess they were 2-4 months old. Molly's ears took a little longer than Jack. Molly's happened gradually. I remember one ear was up and the other was down for about a week. Jack's ears seemed to stand up overnight. Cairn puppies (and adult dogs!) are a lot of fun, so enjoy them while they are young. I just look at Molly and Jack and I laugh. They are a delight for everyone who meets them. I wish you much happiness with your new Cairn puppy!" ~ Suzanna

My Cairn is a year old. He went through two stages of his ears "tipping over". I was told by a breeder that this only happens when they are teething. Sure enough, when all the teething was done, he has his huge pretty Cairn ears! Enjoy the little tip over. It will be gone soon.

Hi. We've got a problem with our Cairn Terrier in that walking him on the lead is a real struggle. Can't seem to get him to stop pulling. Tried moving the other way, walking like a drunk man this way and the other. Then yanking which I don't like doing. Any ideas how to get Asjas to stop pulling on his lead. Lynette.
